Swim Lessons
We are SO EXCITED to partner with the Helena Lions Swim Team to provide skilled instructors for swim lessons at the Y. There is a reason why the YMCA is referred to as “America’s Favorite Swim Instructor.” In Y Classes, kids not only learn to swim, but also learn about themselves, safety and rescue skills, and water activities they can enjoy for a lifetime.
Choose ONE SESSION:
SESSION 1, Saturdays:
DATES: April 8th, 15th, and 29th
Saturdays: 12pm,1pm, 2pm, or 3pm
OR
SESSION 2, Saturdays:
DATES: May 6th, 13th, and 14th
Saturdays: 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, or 3pm
Lessons are 40-minutes each at the YMCA. Swimmers have ONE 40-minute lesson per week. Except the May sessions last weekend will be Saturday & Sunday!
Cost: $45 for Y members; $55 for Community. Membership not required to participate.
Financial assistance is available. Click here for application.
Participants will be evaluated on the first day for appropriate class and skill level.
Children ages 3–5 will work on:
- Water adjustment
- Aquatic safety
- Confidence in the water
Children ages 6+ will work on:
- Water adjustment
- Stroke competency
- Rescue skills
